About cropresize.net
cropresize.net is an independent, privacy-first online passport, visa, and ID photo preparation platform built to help applicants create compliant document photos and 4x6 printable sheets without expensive studio fees or permanent cloud storage.
Our Mission: Accurate Biometric Sizing Without Giving Up Your Privacy
Every year, millions of passport renewals, visa applications (such as US Form DS-160), and student/employee ID uploads are delayed or rejected because standard image editors do not match strict government pixel dimensions, millimeter ratios, or file-size limits. At the same time, many free online photo tools retain user uploads indefinitely or monetize sensitive biometric portraits.
We architected cropresize.net to solve both problems:
- Ephemeral, Encrypted Processing: Uploaded originals and transformed outputs are stored in private, encrypted cloud buckets (never publicly indexed) and are automatically purged by storage lifecycle rules after approximately 24 hours.
- Client-Side 4x6 Print Sheet Generation: Our 4x6 inch (10x15 cm @ 300 DPI) printable sheet generator runs directly inside your browser using HTML5 Canvas, allowing you to print 4 to 8 passport photos at any pharmacy or photo kiosk for under $0.50.
- Verified Government Specifications: Every country requirement page cites official primary government sources—including the U.S. Department of State, GOV.UK (HM Passport Office), Government of Canada, Passport Seva (India), and European ministries of foreign affairs.
How Our Editorial & Technical Verification Process Works
Whenever we publish or update a country passport or visa preset in our database, our team cross-checks the official diplomatic or passport agency documentation for:
- Physical Print Dimensions: Exact width and height in millimeters or inches (e.g., 2x2 inches for US, 35x45 mm for UK/EU/Schengen, 50x70 mm for Canada, 26x32 mm for Spain) and their 300 DPI and 600 DPI pixel equivalents.
- Digital Portal Constraints: Minimum and maximum pixel dimensions, accepted color spaces (sRGB), and kilobyte/megabyte file-size boundaries.
- Biometric Framing & Background Rules: Crown-to-chin head height percentages, eye-line height, background color rules (pure white vs. light grey), and glasses/headwear restrictions.
Every country page includes a collapsible Sources section with direct links and access dates so you can verify the primary government rules before submitting your application.
